Quality is our priority. We only cooperate with prime suppliers and apply our own stringent quality control system. Jewelry will be examined thoroughly before it is delivered to the customer. The examination of the jewelry consists of the technical examination of the diamond, including verification of the genuineness, as well as the examination of the jewelry in its' entirety. You will receive the examination report together with the jewelry.

Why are diamonds expensive?

Diamonds are very rare. They also have special properties:

  • They are harder than any other known material.
  • You are crystal clear.
  • Their light refractive is among the strongest of the gemstones.
The last point leads to the typical sparkle, the fire, for which they are known and popular.

Diamonds as an investment?

Annual change of diamond prices

Diamonds have been very stable in value for decades. Especially during uncertain economic times their prices climb. During the crises of 2000 and 2007, the value of some diamonds soared up to 20% per year. Therefore diamonds are very well suited for the diversification and hedging. The graph shows in blue the course of the Dow Jones Industrial Index (in 1/1000) and in red the annual price change in percent of diamonds from 1.0 to 1.5 ct and first-class quality.

As a rule of thumb it can be said that the largest diamond and the best quality reaches the maximum performance. Investments normally start at about 0.5 ct and mainly consider round brilliants. The color grade should not be less than F and clarity not below VS. Investment diamonds are usually not set into jewelry.

The liquidity of diamond assets is rather low. Hence, investments are mostly long term. Depending on quality and quantity, the sale in often handled through dealers or auctions.

Is my diamond genuine?

Today testers are available to identify genuine diamond. These devices measure several physical quantities, as the thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, refraction index, etc. In our quality process we use such devices to check every diamond.

Diamonds from approx. 0.5 ct on are delivered with an internationally accepted certificate as proof of genuineness. At the certification institute you can authenticate the certificate at any time. Very expensive stones are also laser-engraved with the certificate number to make sure that diamond and certificate match.

What is a good diamond quality?

For diamonds used in jewelry we recommend as a starting point clarity SI and color H, which represents a very good jewelry quality. Depending on your budget you can adapt size, clarity and color of the diamond. If you emphasize exclusivity, we recommend using a higher color grade and secondarily a higher level of clarity.

If you plan to invest into diamonds you should choose color grade and clarity at the upper end of the scale. Such stones score best.

What is the right size of a diamond?

One thing is clear: big is beautiful. For solitaire rings we recommend diamonds from 0.25 ct upwards. For other jewelry settings, smaller diamonds can work quite nicely as well.

Where do diamonds come from?

The most important jewelry diamond mining locations are found in South Africa, Russia, Canada and Australia. The most important cutting centers are located in India, Israel, South Asia, Russia, Belgium and USA. Cut diamonds are traded at international exchange markets, where we source our diamonds directly.

What are blood diamonds?

So-called blood diamonds originate from areas of political crisis. They are normally produced under disastrous, inhumane conditions. Dealt over smuggling paths and detours, the diamonds enter the market. They are often used to finance weapons and bloody civil wars.

To date, it is not possible to assign a loose diamond to a certain place of discovery. Accordingly it can only be conjectured, that diamonds from dubious sources may be blood diamonds. As a responsible company we only buy gemstones from reputable and established manufacturers.
